My Vision for Monroe: Delivering Results

Monroe is more than just a place on the map. Monroe has a long history as a thriving, resilient community built on hard work, shared values, and a commitment to the future. As a 40-year resident and now, a candidate for Mayor, I believe our city government must be responsive, accountable, and relentlessly focused on creating opportunity for every resident.

My career has been in business, and I believe our local government would benefit from basic business principles. In business you start by creating a clear, cohesive vision, then you develop and implement a plan to achieve that vision and every decision should support that plan. I believe local government should have the same focus and discipline.

In business, you must get the fundamentals right. Government is no different. Taxpayers deserve a city that delivers – and delivers well – on the core services that keep Monroe running. For our city, that means well-maintained roads, strong police and fire departments along with proactive code enforcement to ensure clean, safe neighborhoods across our entire city, and investment in reliable, sustainable water, sewer, and energy services.

My vision for Monroe is clear: a city that honors its heritage while embracing innovation. A city where public safety is never compromised, economic opportunity is within reach for all, and government works transparently and efficiently for the people it serves.

Together, we will:

  • Enhance Public Safety by supporting our police, fire, and first responders ensuring they have the tools, resources, and trust to protect our neighborhoods with excellence.
  • Drive Economic Development by investing in strategic assets like our airport and infrastructure, revitalizing our downtown, and strengthening our economic development efforts to attract high-tech industries that create high-demand, well-paying jobs and expand our commercial tax base.
  • Champion Workforce Readiness by effectively leveraging the resources of our education partners, workforce organizations, and business to provide enhanced training programs for Monroe residents to prepare them for the jobs of the future.
  • Foster Entrepreneurship and Innovation by supporting local businesses, streamlining city processes, and building partnerships that position Monroe as a hub for creativity and commerce.
  • Ensure Government Accountability through proven transparent leadership, responsible fiscal management, and common-sense governance that puts residents first.
  • Promote Collaborative Governance by cultivating a spirit of teamwork among elected officials, community stakeholders, and policymakers to serve Monroe residents more effectively.

This campaign isn’t about one person running for office, it’s about a community coming together with a common purpose. Monroe deserves a mayor who listens, leads with integrity, and is laser-focused on Monroe.

In addition to having good ideas, a leader must be able to garner support from fellow council members, staff, and the community. Effective leaders unite people with different viewpoints to get things done. I have spent my entire career bringing people together to achieve real results.

With 40 years of experience in community service and engagement in Monroe, I’m ready to serve as your mayor. If you believe it’s time to put aside politics, eliminate acrimony and focus on what truly matters – serving the good people who call this wonderful city home – join me. Together, we will build a bright future for our city.
